Composition

This set also includes three test tubes of the core Kampot pepper varieties.

They differ in their taste and aroma, which you can hardly find in pepper bought in regular supermarkets.

Black Kampot pepper releases notes of eucalyptus, camphor, and thyme, accompanied by the scent of lime peel. These aromas gradually evolve into seaside freshness and fruity tones. Dominant are notes of peach and nectarine, complemented by hints of pine and the earthy character of Cambodia’s mineral-rich soils.

Rare red Kampot pepper is an explosion of fruity tones with gentler heat. It starts with notes of rose and rosehip, which transition into dried cherry. After two to three minutes, the most typical Kampot aromas emerge—citrus fruits, dried mandarin, and the sour crust of sourdough bread.

White Kampot pepper is delicate yet remains boldly peppery, caressing the palate. Upon grinding, aromas of camphor, sage, and cedarwood are released, with subtle hints of nutmeg blossom, grapefruit, and other citrus fruits. After a few minutes, you may detect notes of nutmeg, thyme blossoms, lemon balm, and underlying cedar and black tea.

Characteristics

We have packed everything you need to work with Kampot pepper into a recycled cardboard box.

Our designer packaging represents maximum luxury, sustainability, precision, and the highest possible quality and design, which you won’t find anywhere else. The set includes three Scandinavian grinders, three 70g glass tubes with the essential types of pepper, enough for over 400 servings of food, and even a practical stand for the tubes.

The set is extremely environmentally friendly thanks to the use of natural and recycled materials that meet the certification for sustainable forestry. The peppercorns exported to your table come from small family farms. These farmers grow pepper with care and traditional methods that have been used in the region for hundreds of years.

We buy the pepper from them under the fairest conditions. The grains go through multiple rounds of selection during export, ensuring that you receive the most authentic flavor and aroma from Cambodia.

Maintenance

By adjusting the grind size of the pepper, you influence its flavor profile.

The smaller the fragments, the sharper the pepper’s taste will be. On the other hand, larger fragments will transfer more of the exotic and specific notes of Kampot pepper into your dish.

When filling the grinder, never use bare hands– pour the peppercorns directly into the chamber from the packaging using a spoon or funnel. Also, don’t forget to clean your grinder regularly. Never use water or chemical products.A cloth, a small brush and a drop of olive oil are all you need. Always keep the grinder away from the sink and be careful when using it over steam.

Material

The grinder is made from natural wood, or combines a wooden top with a porcelain body.

All our grinders feature a unique wood grain and a special surface finish that ensures they will last for decades. The porcelain grinders boast the strength and durability of porcelain, which contrasts beautifully with the wooden tops.

We’ve placed the pepper into 70g test tubes made of Czech glass, which perfectly preserve the unique aroma and flavour profile of the peppercorns. The test tubes, along with the grinders, are stored in a box made of recycled cardboard with a special surface finish, making the entire set ideal as a gift.

You can have any text or image engraved on the box lid to make it truly personal. We designed the box to serve as a display gallery for your pepper treasures – and to do so for as long as you want. Simply slide out the inner section. All materials are fully recyclable, and you can easily come up with new ways to use them according to upcycling principles.

Grinding mechanism

The set also includes three Scandinavian grinders measuring 17 centimeters, so you’ll never have to deal with refilling pepper again.

The grinders are available either in a natural wooden version made from light oak wood, dark brown walnut wood, or dark brown ash. Alternatively, you can opt for a modern ceramic version in white, black, or red.

All grinders have a conical shape, thanks to which they fit perfectly in your hand, and the grinding is handled by the patented CrushGrind® mechanism with a respectable 25-year warranty. Adjusting the coarseness of the grind affects the flavor profile of the pepper. The smaller the fragments, the sharper the taste of the pepper. On the other hand, larger fragments impart to the dish more of the specific exotic tones of Kampot pepper.
