Composition

This set also includes three test tubes of the core Kampot pepper varieties.

They differ in their taste and aroma, which you can hardly find in pepper bought in regular supermarkets.

Black Kampot pepper releases notes of eucalyptus, camphor, and thyme, accompanied by the scent of lime peel. These aromas gradually evolve into seaside freshness and fruity tones. Dominant are notes of peach and nectarine, complemented by hints of pine and the earthy character of Cambodia’s mineral-rich soils.

Rare red Kampot pepper is an explosion of fruity tones with gentler heat. It starts with notes of rose and rosehip, which transition into dried cherry. After two to three minutes, the most typical Kampot aromas emerge—citrus fruits, dried mandarin, and the sour crust of sourdough bread.

White Kampot pepper is delicate yet remains boldly peppery, caressing the palate. Upon grinding, aromas of camphor, sage, and cedarwood are released, with subtle hints of nutmeg blossom, grapefruit, and other citrus fruits. After a few minutes, you may detect notes of nutmeg, thyme blossoms, lemon balm, and underlying cedar and black tea.

Characteristics

Elegant box with a designer grinder and a selection of Kampot pepper.

The special cardboard box contains one of our Scandinavian grinders of your choice and a set of three test tubes filled with all the essential types of Kampot pepper. You can choose either from colored ceramic grinders with a wooden head or grinders made entirely of solid wood.

Thanks to their design, these grinders will become a jewel of any kitchen. Their shape is crafted to fit your hand perfectly and ensure a firm grip. The wooden head is pleasant to the touch and delivers perfect feedback from the grinding mechanism hidden inside the grinder. Create your uncompromising set with which you’ll grind every peppercorn and every grain of salt.

Maintenance

By adjusting the grind size of the pepper, you influence its flavor profile.

The smaller the fragments, the sharper the pepper’s flavor will be. On the other hand, larger fragments will give the dish more of the specific exotic notes of Kampot pepper.

When filling the grinder, never use bare hands, but rather pour the peppercorns directly from the packaging into the chamber, using a spoon or funnel to help. Also, don't forget to clean your grinder regularly. Never use water or chemical agents to do so. A cloth, small brush, and a drop of olive oil will do. Always keep the grinder away from the sink and handle it with care, especially over steam.

Material

The grinder is made of natural wood, or combines a wooden head with a porcelain body.

All grinders feature a unique wood grain and a special surface treatment that ensures they will last for decades. Porcelain grinders rely on the robustness and durability of porcelain, which contrasts beautifully with the solid wood used for the head.

The pepper itself is stored in 10g glass test tubes, and the entire set is placed in a recycled cardboard box that can be engraved with your custom message. These packages were not chosen randomly. Not only do they look great, but they are also made in the Czech Republic from sustainable materials that are easy to recycle or upcycle.

Grinding mechanism

At the heart of the grinder is the ceramic CrushGrind® grinding mechanism.

This mechanism can grind peppercorns or salt evenly across 14 levels of coarseness. The entire patented mechanism is covered by a 25-year warranty, giving you peace of mind that this grinder is built to last.
