Frequently Asked Questions
Kampot pepper is exceptional in that each of its colors has a completely different taste, which makes it suitable for different types of dishes. It is, therefore, an expert in the so-called pairing with food, where you can combine one or even two types of pepper. Don't be afraid to experiment - in the end, it's up to you to decide which combination you like best!
We sell only whole peppercorns. Grind your pepper to your liking. If you desire a sharp flavor, grind it finely; if you want to taste the true flavor of each type of pepper, opt for a coarser grind – the result is fantastic! We use whole pepper for this very reason, because only then do we preserve 100% freshness, quality, and flavor as if you were right in Cambodia on one of our plantations.
The grinding mechanism is capable of crushing even coarse salt. We do not recommend grinding chili peppers or other spices in it, as Grinder would get clogged. The same applies to our freeze-dried pepper (thanks to its lower salt content, it is much smaller and more fragile), which should be crushed in a mortar or used as whole peppercorns.
The pepper we supply is hand-packed under strict control in the Czech Republic at least one month before sale, which is reflected in its taste. We transport fresh pepper from Cambodia immediately after harvest, carefully vacuum-packed kilo by kilo. We do not know of any other company in the world that approaches the control and preservation of Kampot pepper quality so precisely.
Kampot pepper has received the exceptional PGI - Protected Geographical Indication certificate, which declares that the Kampot region in Cambodia is the best in the world for growing pepper. It is the same as with other protected products, such as real Champagne.
We are currently securing space for a brick-and-mortar store. Until then, you can find us at various food festivals; the specific locations will be announced on our Facebook or Instagram in due time.
We dispatch goods by the next working day, with engraving taking up to a week. Delivery within the Czech Republic is usually on the next working day after dispatch. The delivery time depends on the workload of the individual courier companies (e.g., during holiday periods).
In most cases, the order is ready on the same day; if you place your order in the afternoon, it will be prepared the following day.
The white color you may see on the surface of the freeze-dried pepper is caused by the brine from genuine salt bloom, used to preserve the maximum freshness of the green pepper during transport from Cambodia to the Czech Republic.
